Poor Grading

Poor grading is considered to be any yard slope that encourages water to lay stagnant after falling, causing large puddles or to drain towards your home or business. This results in water pressure that can harm your foundation walls.

To effectively divert groundwater away from your home and/or commercial property, proper landscape grading should be designed to slope away from permanent structures.

Inadequate Water Diversion

Gutters are essential to collect rainwater from your roof. They divert the water away from your foundation. Without them, water would fall to the soil surrounding your home’s foundation. Earthcare connects downspouts to ensure that the soil near the foundation doesn’t become oversaturated. Downspouts that are too small, damaged, or blocked can prevent proper water flow and cause water to become backed up and overflow in areas that cause issues along the home’s foundation and flower beds. Downspout Drainage

Rain gutters help to collect water run off from your home and redirect it to the ground below, typically somewhere near the foundation of your property. Earthcare installs downspout adapters connected directly to an underground drain pipe that will keep this water from collecting at the base of your home or other structure. We determine a proper location to release this water away from your structure and landscaping to help it flow to its proper place of discharge or to naturally dissipate into the ground.

Trench Drain/Channel Drain

A trench drain, sometimes referred to as a channel drain, is a surface drainage solution that prevents water from entering your house through doorways and stairways. The drainage system collects water and drains it to a perimeter drainage system and sump pump. A trench drain can help prevent water damage, keeping your home safe and dry.

Catch Basin

A catch basin is placed in the ground near areas of standing water to improve yard drainage and help prevent damage to the home and property. Excess water and sediment drain through a grate in the top of the catch basin. The water collects and drains into an underground drainage system.
