As we continue through the month of May, we are reminded of the moments and people who shape our lives in meaningful ways.

Following Mother’s Day, we continue to recognize and appreciate the strength, love, and unwavering support that mothers and mother figures provide each and every day. Their guidance, resilience, and care serve as a foundation not only for families, but for the communities and workplaces we build together. We celebrate all the incredible women who balance so much while continuing to inspire those around them.

Later this month, we observe Memorial Day—a solemn and important time to reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country. Their dedication and courage remind us of the freedoms we enjoy and the responsibility we share to carry their legacy forward with gratitude and respect.

As we move through May, I encourage each of you to take a moment to appreciate both the personal and collective impact of these occasions. Whether it’s expressing gratitude to someone who has supported you or pausing to reflect on the meaning of service and sacrifice, these moments help ground us in what truly matters.

Thank you for your continued commitment, hard work, and the positive energy you bring to our organization each d

💦 DON'T WATER WHEN IT'S WET: The Importance of Your Irrigation Rain Sensor

As Floridians, we know that we often go from dry spells to torrential downpours in a flash. That's where your irrigation rain sensor comes in, playing a crucial role in water conservation and landscape health. A rain sensor is a simple device that prevents your sprinkler system from starting when it detects rainfall.

Rain sensors are typically installed near your irrigation controller. When a preset amount of rain accumulates, the sensor sends a signal to the controller, temporarily halting scheduled watering.

Why Repair or Replace?
Like any outdoor device, rain sensors are exposed to the elements. Most Rain Sensors will require maintenance because:

💦Malfunction: Over time, sensors can become clogged with debris, corroded by saltwater air, or damaged by intense sunlight. This can lead to inaccurate readings or complete failure.

💦Incorrect Settings: Sensors have adjustable settings to control the amount of rainfall that triggers them. If these settings are incorrect (too sensitive or not sensitive enough), your irrigation may run unnecessarily or fail to activate when needed.

💦Age: Rain sensors have a limited lifespan. Older models may become unreliable and need replacement.

💦Wiring Issues: Damaged or loose wiring can disrupt the signal between the sensor and the controller.

We're here to partner with you during the wettest time of the year. If you have questions regarding your irrigation system's rain sensor replacement,

Protecting the Monarch Butterfly—Right From Your Backyard 🦋

The Monarch butterfly, one of nature’s most iconic pollinators, is facing a serious decline due to habitat loss, climate changes, and reduced availability of native plants. While this may seem like a large-scale environmental issue, small efforts at home can make a meaningful impact—especially here in Southwest Florida.

One of the most effective ways homeowners can help is by incorporating butterfly-friendly plants into their landscapes. Monarchs rely on milkweed as a host plant to lay their eggs, making it essential for their survival. In addition, nectar-rich flowers such as lantana, pentas, and firebush provide the nourishment adult butterflies need to thrive.

Creating a butterfly garden doesn’t require a full landscape redesign. Even small, thoughtfully planted areas can provide a safe haven for these important pollinators. By choosing the right plants and minimizing pesticide use, homeowners can play a direct role in supporting the Monarch population.

At Earthcare, we’re passionate about creating landscapes that are not only beautiful, but also environmentally responsible. If you’re interested in adding a butterfly-friendly garden to your property, our team would be happy to help guide you!

Is It Time for an Irrigation Renovation?

An efficient irrigation system is one of the most important components of a healthy, thriving landscape—especially here in Southwest Florida, where heat and seasonal rainfall can quickly impact plant health. Over time, however, irrigation systems can become outdated, inefficient, or even ineffective without homeowners realizing it.

If you’ve noticed dry patches, overwatering, rising water bills, or inconsistent coverage, it may be time to consider an irrigation renovation. Aging systems often struggle to keep up with changing landscape needs, plant growth, and evolving water regulations.

Modern irrigation solutions are designed with efficiency and precision in mind. Upgrades can include improved sprinkler head placement, drip irrigation for plant beds, updated valves, and smart controllers that adjust watering schedules based on weather conditions. These enhancements not only promote healthier plants, but also help conserve water and reduce unnecessary costs.

An irrigation renovation is not just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about optimizing your entire system to work smarter and more effectively for your property.

At Earthcare, our team evaluates your current system and recommends tailored solutions to ensure your landscape receives the right amount of water, exactly where it’s needed. If you’re unsure whether your system is performing at its best, we’re here to help.

Our Bright Feedback

TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE, CLIENT FOCUSED

I started working with Earthcare after my property was devastated by Hurricane Irma. I have enjoyed every moment. You have manicured my 2.5 acres weekly, sculpted my 400′ hedge, smoothed out the back yard with numerous installations of sod, maintained my irrigation system, and installed two beautiful water features that have given me tremendous pleasure…

A REALLY BIG THANK YOU
for helping with the garden dilemma. You responded so quickly to solve the problem, its amazing. I would be weeks waiting for the plans alone in the UK never mind the men to plant. It looks so much better already and when we get pots and the other 2 Bougies in I’m sure we will look, well if not perfect, certainly heading in the right direction.I will do what our Prince Charles does and talk to the Bougies to encourage them to reach the trellis. Your men were fantastic today working really quickly and they are so tidy!
