IMPECCABLE INSTALLATION: Transformation at La Playa Beach & Golf Club

At La Playa Beach & Golf Club, every detail matters—especially in the spaces that welcome guests and residents each day. This recent enhancement focused on elevating both the appearance and functionality of key walkways and landscape areas, creating a cleaner, more polished coastal aesthetic.

In the “before” condition, these areas featured exposed soil and uneven groundcover, which not only impacted the overall presentation but also required ongoing maintenance. While the surrounding plant material remained beautiful, the lack of defined edges and consistent coverage left the space feeling incomplete.

The transformation introduces a crisp, intentional design with the addition of premium synthetic turf. This upgrade provides a lush, manicured appearance year-round while eliminating the challenges of maintaining natural grass in high-traffic, sandy coastal environments. The defined borders create a seamless transition between hardscape and landscape, enhancing both structure and visual appeal.

BEFORE & AFTER: Hedge Installation

This transformation showcases the impact of thoughtful landscape design in both aesthetics and functionality.

In the before image, the area was cleared and exposed. After removing the plant material, the retaining wall felt unfinished and lacked privacy. Without adequate screening, the property was fully visible, offering little separation from neighboring views.

In the after, the space has been completely revitalized with the installation of a lush privacy hedge featuring Clusia (Clusia guttifera), known for its dense foliage and durability in Southwest Florida’s coastal conditions. These were thoughtfully paired with existing Areca Palms, creating a layered, natural screen that enhances both depth and visual interest.

The result is a clean, structured planting bed that not only elevates the overall appearance of the property, but also provides much-needed privacy and seclusion. As the Clusia hedge continues to mature, it will form an even fuller, greener barrier—delivering long-term beauty and function.
